Introduction
The Advanced Subsea Engineer Programme (ASSEP) forms the third, advanced level part of the ModuSpec Academy's Well Control educational curriculum (Introductory , Intermediate and Advanced levels) and operates on a specialist level. Due to the in-depth nature of this programme, it is recommended especially to the candidates who have successfully completed ModuSpec's Subsea Engineer Programme (SSEP) and have ample field experience in the subsea department of a drilling unit.
The Advanced Subsea Engineer Programme is accredited by the International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC).
Who should attend?
(Assistant) Subsea Engineers who have successfully completed the four modules of ModuSpec's SSEP, preferably have gained one or two years of field experience, want to enhance their knowledge and advance within the subsea discipline.

Note: The ASSEP consists of an in-depth study of the topics discussed during the Subsea Engineer Programme (SSEP).
Structure
The programme is based on a 6-month training period and consists of two elements:
Progress Monitoring and Programme Completion Requirements
The candidate's progress is monitored based on the results of written tests conducted at the end of both theoretical modules and the assessment of the practical assignments completed by the trainee on the rig. All in-class assignments are corrected by ModuSpec's trainer and returned to the candidate. The practical assignments are based on the topics discussed in the classroom and they enable the candidate to demonstrate their theoretical and practical knowledge acquired during the programme.
The results of the entry test, both final exams of the classroom modules and the results of the practical assignments will be communicated to the candidate's Supervisor.
In order to successfully complete the course the candidate must achieve the following:
If a candidate fails one of his modules' final exams or the mathematical tests, he will be allowed to resit after receiving additional individual training from ModuSpec's trainer.
Qualifications
The Subsea Engineer Programme is accredited by the International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC).
After successfully completing the assignment and exams, the candidate will receive his final ModuSpec IADC Advanced Subsea Engineer Programme Certificate.
After each module the candidate receives a ModuSpec Certificate of Completion or, in case of a final exam score below 70%, a ModuSpec Certificate of Attendance.
The IADC accredited certificate is valid for 5 years.
Duration
Two 5-day class room sessions and one on-the-job work assignment and assessment within a period of 6 months.
